Welcome to Designed for Desire, the podcast where luxury, kink, and home come together to create spaces that are anything but ordinary.

Hi, I’m Jenny, your host and the creative genius behind White Wave Design, a full-service interior design studio specializing in erotic interiors for badass soulmates. I design for the weird, the wonderful, and the unapologetically unconventional. For those who crave total freedom in the comfort and beauty of home, a place where you never have to hold back.

Because this niche doesn’t exist in the mainstream design world, I know you have questions, and this podcast is here to answer them. You’ll hear me switch between pronouns, plurals, and titles because the relationships I work with are as beautifully varied and expansive as the people themselves, and always between consenting adults.

Whatever twists of fate, coincidences, or hidden alignments the universe set in motion, I’m so happy you're here!

Hello wonderful weirdo!

For this week’s edition of Behind the Design, we’re talking about the first step of possibility. The possibility of us working together, of you living in a sexy ass love nest.

The simplest way to explain the Discovery Call is this: it’s to see if we’re aligned. Aligned on three key areas: money, timeline, and process. Just like Meat Loaf sings, “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad,” we also need the trifecta.

This chat is our chance to see if we’re meant to create something extraordinary together. Not every meeting turns into a project, and that’s okay. I’m not the designer for everyone. We’re seeing if it’s design love at first sight or just a polite handshake.

After I’ve told you everything that makes this both thrilling and terrifying, and you don’t run screaming the other way, this just might work.

So today, I’m walking you through what actually happens during this conversation to help ease a little of the stress and mystery. What I’ll ask, what I’ll listen for, and what I want you to know before you ever sign on the dotted line.

If you reach out to me there’s a good chance you are thinking that I am the designer for you but you need a few details.

PRIVACY AND DISCRETION

At this stage, we haven’t signed an NDA, but think of me as your secret keeper with a design badge. Everything you share goes into the vault. No leaks. No gossip. No awkward Modern Family dinner-table reveals. Confidentiality is built into how I work. Whether an NDA is in place or not, your privacy is always protected. I take this seriously because what we talk about isn’t your average design discussion. It’s personal, intimate, and super duper private. You’re inviting me into your love story, your wicked fantasies, and your D/s dynamic.

If you have the means to move forward with a project of this scale, chances are you’re in the public eye in some way. If you’d feel more comfortable signing an NDA beforehand, we can absolutely do that. If it allows you to speak freely and share openly, knowing your secrets stay safe with me.

I use transcription software so that I can focus completely on you without scribbling notes allowing me to stay fully present. If you have requested an NDA that of course covers us as well. But I always reiterate this at the beginning because I want you to feel safe enough to exhale. You can share freely. This is a safel space to speak honestly about what you desire and what excites you.

My Director of Creative Chaos, or DCC, has access to your names, your email address, and the information needed to coordinate our calendars. Every project is given a code name, something like Smoke & Mirrors, which we use on all quotes, invoices, and emails. It keeps things discreet and adds a little mystery, which I find fun.

WHAT I REVIEW BEFORE WE TALK

Getting to this point means you completed the Design Inquiry on our website, which is a bold first move. Clicking that send button might have made your palms sweat and butterflies take flight in your tummy because this isn’t a form you’ve ever filled out before. Be bold. Be brave. There are seven things I ask for:

Your first name. Real, middle, or chosen for privacy. Whatever makes you comfortable. Fun aliases are welcome. Think along the lines of Mr. Darcy or The Captain. No pressure, but clever aliases get bonus points.

Your phone number. Only used if emails bounce or vanish into cyberspace. This could be your personal line, your assistant’s, or a secondary number. Just note that White Wave Design appears on caller ID, so if they were to google us it’s very clear what we specialize in.

Type of design. Choose between Full-Scale Renovation or Luxury New Construction. This helps me gauge the scale and assemble the design and logistical team.

Planned project investment. The ranges go from ten to twenty-five million, twenty-five to fifty, fifty to one hundred, and one hundred million plus. If you’re unsure, that’s okay. My job is to tell you what it will take to bring your dream to life. Pick a range you’re comfortable with.

Email address. Personal, work, or newly set up.

Project location. Just the city or town, never your exact address. It helps me understand where we might be building your fantasy.

Your love story and dream for your erotic home. My favorite question. Share as little or as much as you want. Some write two sentences, others write pages. What you share here helps me feel the emotional and architectural scale of your story and whether I can exceed your expectations.

Before I ever meet you on screen, I review your Design Inquiry form personally. This is not a quick glance. I read every word and take notes because your answers begin to paint a picture of who you are and what kind of space designed for pleasure will honour your story.

Then I prepare myself. I clear my desk, get my notes ready, and set the tone. I play music, dance around, and get my blood flowing. I treat these conversations as intentional energetic exchanges, not business transactions. I want to show up calm, focused, and in the right headspace for you.

THE PURPOSE OF THE DISCOVERY CALL

Think of this as our pilot episode. We’re deciding if this series gets renewed for several fancy-schmancy seasons or ends after one really memorable episode.

You’ll be surrendering your house plans, your secrets, and your desires into my care and keeping. We talk about what excites you, what comforts you, and what happens when you let your freak flag fly!!!

We’ll also talk about what it’s like to work with White Wave Design, our process, my expectations, and how I lead projects. I want you to understand what it’s like to be a client, part Harley garage and part haute couture, and decide if this adventure feels like your kinda ride.

I prefer to speak to everyone in the relationship. If you share four walls, you share the screen. If you want to get a feel for how I work before bringing your partner or partners it can be one-on-one.

I only take on a new project every two to three years because each one demands my full artistic and emotional attention. I want to know that we’re moving toward the same vision, that you value the process as much as the outcome, and that you’re ready to let me lead the artistic direction.

There will be butterflies, nervousness, excitement, or most likely both. Sharing your private world with someone new takes courage. You don’t have to have it all figured out or know how to articulate every desire. That’s my job, to help you find the words through design.

You get to see if I’m the right designer for you, and I get to see if I can bring your vision to life. Can I solve your pain points? Can I achieve what you’re dreaming of? Do our values mesh? Because just as I can be calm, cool, and collected, I can also be A LOT.

BEFORE THE CALL

Once your inquiry comes through, I review it myself. If I know right away that we’re not the right fit, I’ll email you to thank you and wish you the best. But if I see potential, we move forward and I will email you our calendar availability and coordinate.

One week before we meet, I’ll send you our Working with White Wave Design Guide. It’s a summary of how I work and what to expect throughout our journey together. Inside, you’ll find a warm welcome, an introduction to my design philosophy, and an outline of my services, process, boundaries, and project roadmap. It also includes what to expect emotionally and practically, considerations to keep in mind, billing structure, and what happens next.

You’ll also find a few thoughtful resources, frequently asked questions, and a list of topics we’ll discuss. My goal is to remove as much uncertainty as i can and help ease the natural nerves that come with stepping into something new.

If you feel anxious, that’s completely normal. You’re inviting someone into your private world, and that takes courage.

DURING THE CALL

I allot an hour, which gives us enough time to settle in, talk, and connect without feeling rushed. When we start, I thank you for being fully present with me. I’ll remind you that what we discuss is confidential and that it’s being transcribed so that I can focus completely on you without the distraction of scribbling notes. Small talk is absolutely the worst so we’re skipping that part.

Whatever your fantasy looks like, this is the time to say it out loud. After we talk about your vision, we discuss your dynamic. Who is Dominant and who is submissive? Are you 24/7? What kinks or fetishes are important to you? We’re not at the point where I need to know every sexy and devious detail. I’m looking for an overview of your sex life and how you experience pleasure.

THE DISCOVERY CALL CHECKLIST

I have an exact order and checklist I follow because that’s how I roll. Wily nilly just isn’t my thing.

  • Welcome

  • Scope, property, and must-haves

  • Your dynamic

  • Investment and timeline

  • Process and team introductions

  • Fit check and next step

I open our conversation with greetings and some easy questions. And then once I’ve lulled you into a sense of safety I hit you with expanding on your naughty design wishlist, lol.

Have you worked with a designer before? If yes, how did that go?

How did you stumble on my work?

Why did you reach out to me?

Will this be your primary residence or a private retreat?

Who will lives with you? Do they have special requirements?

Please expand on your dreams for an erotic interior.

I love this part because this is where the storytelling begins. Let’s imagine you tell me you’re dreaming of a kinky vacation getaway, a ten-thousand-square-foot log cabin in the secluded beauty of Muskoka. You’re working with a real estate agent to find a property that isn’t waterfront but has a private lake and acres of forest. Your must-have list includes a spa with an indoor pool and hot tub, and multiple Muskoka rooms because, while you love biting and blood play, you are not into mosquitos and black flies as scene partners. Your sweetheart has been fantasizing about a cozy movie theater, but with shared seating for cuddling instead of individual recliners, and of course, a gourmet kitchen because he loves to cook for you. You want the kind of kitchen where you can tie him to the island while dinner’s in the oven. Practical, but make it pleasurable. Maybe you both can’t stop getting excited about being naked and free use, chasing each other around the cabin.

I thank you for sharing and then it’s my turn!!!

After you’ve secured our design services, the first step is the Lifestyle Questionnaire. Pour a glass of wine, settle in, and have fun. It’s super long, and you’ll probably think, “Why the hell is she asking this?” but it will all make sense when you walk into your new sex den. Also, fair warning it might make you a little horny. You’re welcome.

Next is the four hour Initial Client Meeting. During this in-person meeting we discuss the questionnaire, colour psychology, appealing to your senses, my process, and your wants and needs.  You sit across from me, maybe with your partner’s hand on your thigh or squeezing the back of your neck. Maybe a little nervous, maybe excited, maybe both, and we start to talk about the parts of your life that most people never ask about. The sex. The power exchange.

Then comes the Project Kick-Off Meeting. This is when you, the builder, and I finally get in the same room and the fun officially begins. We review milestones, communication flow, and priorities, ensuring every detail is accounted for before the first phase begins. There’s food, drinks, and a toast, because this meeting marks more than logistics; it's the beginning of a once-in-a-lifetime partnership.

From there, the journey unfolds through several phases.

The Design Discovery phase is gathering the information I need such as measurements, photos, suppliers, and reviewing the architectural plans if they have been started.

Design Concept is where your dream starts to take visual form through sketches, materials, and textures.

Design Development is where we refine every custom detail and finalize selections.

Design Detail is the most exciting stage, the butterflies-in-your-stomach time, when I present the full design with 3D visuals and samples.

Once the design is approved, we move into Construction, followed by Procurement and Execution. The build team manages every order, shipping warehousing, and installation to ensure precision and care.

When it’s all ready, we celebrate with the Reveal. You step into the home that now holds your pleasure, your devotion, your history, and your future. It’s the gothic manor you always wanted but everyone told you would be too dark, too dramatic, and too much. And yet here it is, absolutely everything. The light glows against deep, rich walls. The air is thick with the scent of wood, leather, and candle wax. It’s sensual, elegant, and alive. You can already picture the click of heels on stone, sweat and musk clinging to skin, the warmth of bodies tangled after a midnight feast, the drag of fingertips across your throat, the glint of steel and silk waiting, and the kind of mornings where you never want to leave the sheets.

And last but not least is the Final Walkthrough. We review every last detail together, go over care and maintenance, and hand off your project package. Many of my preferred builders also offer aftercare programs so it continues to look and feel as exquisite as the day it was completed.

HOW ALL THIS WORKS

Every project starts with clear boundaries. Hard limits. Soft limits. The same way they show up in your relationships, they show up here too. I make mine crystal clear from the very first meeting. These aren’t cute policies or self-care trends. They’re how I protect the energy that lets me show up and do my best work.

Each month, my DCC blocks a week where there are no in-person meetings or site visits. If you’re a vulva owner, you probably already know. That’s my luteal and menstrual phase. Hormones crash, momentum slows, and everything hurts. It’s not a vacation, it’s part of the process. If I don’t honour that rhythm, I lose the magnetic spark that makes my work so damn good.

Professionalism and consent are everything. Many of my clients live within D/s or 24/7 dynamics, but I’m not part of those relationships. You wear everyday attire. I show up in skull t-shirts, ripped jeans, animal print, and moto boots. The power exchange between us is the artistic kind, not erotic. This is the PG-13 version of your world, the one that sets the stage for the R-rated scenes.

I don’t accept text messages. All communication happens through email or scheduled phone calls. Studio hours are 10 to 4, Monday through Friday. You’ll get cheerful reminders from my DCC leading up to our meetings with subject lines like “five more sleeps” or “only one more sleep until we see each other.”

If you ever feel the urge to send me design ideas, inspiration photos, or product links, please don't! But that also tells me we need to have a heart-to-heart. You hired me to lead so as Mel Robbins says- let me. Maybe you feel like I have not fully seen or heard you yet, or maybe you are unsure if I will deliver exactly what I promised. Either way, we will talk about it openly. You have hired me to interpret your vision and elevate it beyond what you imagined and you are paying a P.R.E.M.I.U.M for me to do exactly that.

Once we are working together, everyone completes the Lifestyle Questionnaire. That is non-negotiable because it helps me understand each person’s needs, favourite things, and desires.

You probably don’t want the opinions of family and friends, and given the work I do, and I don’t either. No outside chit-chat. This process is about you and your relationship, not the peanut gallery. The fewer voices in the mix, the stronger and more personal the result.

MY TEAM

White Wave Design may seem like a one-woman show at first glance, but I actually work with a select group of talented professionals from around the world who help me craft the magic behind the scenes. Each team member is carefully chosen to support our projects in ways that allow me to focus on what I do best.

I’m an introverted designer who prefers a quiet workspace and a focus on design rather than day-to-day hustle and bustle, so I work alone in my studio by choice. However, I’m a firm believer in delegating to a skilled, dedicated team who can bring their expertise into the project, ensuring a joyful process for my clients, myself, and the build team. Some of these professionals you’ll meet and interact with; others you will never see, but they each play an essential role in shaping the White Wave experience.

Here’s a look at the incredible team that supports White Wave Design:

Director of Creative Chaos: The organizational powerhouse who supports my creativity and keeps me from veering off into disorder, managing my schedule and coordinating client interactions with precision.

Accountant: My number whiz! They handle financial details like tax filings, invoices, and financial records, ensuring everything behind the scenes runs smoothly and accurately.

3D Rendering Artist: If I tried to describe your entire house design, you’d have absolutely no fucking idea what I was talking about, let alone be able to picture it. That’s where my 3D rendering artist comes in, turning my wild ideas into jaw-dropping visuals so you can see what your rooms will look like long before we break ground.

Architectural Photographer: When the last finishing touch is in place, I work with a talented photographer to capture the essence of the space if you consented, of course. These photos become part of the White Wave portfolio and are a testament to the journey and care poured into each project.

Boudoir Photographer: For clients who want a piece of art that captures their oral sex skills, I have a photographer who can capture stunning, erotic images of you in your new space or nudes in nature (she travels). Imagine a portrait that embodies the romance, allure, and unique beauty of your relationship and artwork of the highest form, just for you to admire.

Personal Chaperone/Right-Hand: Every in-person client meeting, my personal chaperone is by my side. They provide me with an extra layer of comfort and peace of mind. This allows me to fully focus on our discussions and immerse myself in your vision for the project without distractions.

BUILD TEAM

Before the badassery begins, there’s the design and build team. Think of them as an orchestra of artisans, each playing their part to perfection: the architect, carpenters, project manager, contractors, trades, procurement specialists, warehouse and receiving experts, lighting and sound engineers, tech gurus, specialized consultants like art advisors, health and wellness experts, custom garage specialists, and designers for sports simulators, private courts and courses- all leading up to the installation crew that brings it to life.

Collaboration with the build team is where genius unfolds, where all my preposterous, mind-blowing ideas are transformed into stunning realities. From translating intricate design details into workable plans to tackling the technical challenges that come with executing my vision, their expertise is invaluable. Together, with mutual respect and a shared commitment to excellence, we turn imaginative concepts into homes that inspire lust and enhance pleasure.

Whether your dream features a dungeon as the gathering place for your community to play, mood-setting sensual lighting, or custom furnishings tailored to your kinky lifestyle, I specialize in crafting spaces that celebrate your desires with sophistication and care.

MONEY & TIMELINE

There’s no reason to tiptoe around money so let’s get right into it. It’s going to cost a fucking fortune and it’s going to take absolutely forever!!! We’re talking millions and years here. You’re commissioning a bespoke sex pad. The waiting becomes part of the seduction. The reveal is the climax. And when it’s finally yours, every single moment will have been worth the ache of anticipation.

My design fees are seven figures per year with six figure monthly payments, and projects start at $10 million and range to $100 million or more once construction, furnishings, and finishes are included. Three to six years is the average, and estate-level projects can take even longer. There will be hundreds of artisans, consultants, and specialists working together to shape something that isn’t just beautiful but transcendent. Nothing exquisite is built in a hurry. Every stage unfolds intentionally, layer by layer, like a slow-burn love story that does not want to be rushed.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING AFTER EVERYTHING WE’VE DISCUSSED

Before we say goodbye, I like to check in with you. How are you feeling? These moments can bring up excitement, vulnerability, or even a few nerves, and that’s completely normal. I want you to leave feeling grounded, inspired, and clear about what comes next.

We take a few minutes for final thoughts, questions, and reflections before deciding how to move forward. Sometimes it’s clear we’re not the right fit, and that’s okay. We part ways, grateful for the connection. Other times, everything just clicks, and we schedule a follow-up to answer lingering questions or include anyone who missed the first one.

AFTER THE CALL

I’ll send a follow-up email to thank you and outline the next steps. If we both felt the spark, we’ll schedule a second call with all decision-makers to answer any lingering questions and make sure we’re on the same page.

Sometimes the decision to move forward happens right away, and other times it needs a little space to breathe. If it feels right, the next step is a separate meeting dedicated to reviewing and signing the design agreement. This ensures that everyone feels secure, clear, and ready before we officially begin the design process.

THE ENERGY I LOOK FOR

The clients I work with are confident in their sex life, curious about what they haven’t explored yet, and ready to shape something timeless and intoxicating. They value privacy as much as pleasure and understand that true luxury lives in the details.

I’m drawn to people who are passionate and decisive, yet open to what’s beyond comfort. Clients who can hold space for both curiosity and clarity. The ones who know what they want but give me the freedom to show them something they never could’ve imagined.

We are both free to be ourselves. Sometimes I’m calm, quiet, and collected. Other times I’m animated, passionate, and yes, I’ll drop a perfectly timed fuck when it fits. You might match that intensity, or you might be more reserved and simply enjoy the vibe I bring. Either way, I’m completely comfortable with a grumpy/sunshine dynamic if you’re cool with it.

You entrust me with your secrets, and I expect you to let me lead. There is no room in my process for assholes or douche canoes. I attract clients with main-character presence, people who know what they want, respect the process, and understand that good design is like great sex. It takes communication, patience, and trust.

More than design. This is identity.

My intention for this episode was for you to know that you’re not alone. To feel seen, heard, and understood. To know that your desires are valid and that a home designed to enhance your sex life is not only possible, it’s waiting for you.

Maybe you laughed. Maybe a memory tugged at your heartstrings. Maybe you had an aha moment, or whispered “she gets me.”

Thank you for spending this time with me and for allowing me to be part of your journey. Until next time…have joy!
