Welcome to Designed for Desire, the podcast where luxury, kink, and home come together to create spaces that are anything but ordinary.

Hi, I’m Jenny, your host and the creative genius behind White Wave Design, a full-service interior design studio specializing in erotic interiors for badass soulmates. I design for the weird, the wonderful, and the unapologetically unconventional. For those who crave total freedom in the comfort and beauty of home, a place where you never have to hold back.

Because this niche doesn’t exist in mainstream design, I know you have questions, and this podcast is here to answer them. You’ll hear me switch between pronouns, plurals, and titles because the relationships I work with are as beautifully varied and expansive as the people themselves, and always between consenting adults in a healthy, loving and devoted D/s dynamic.

Whatever twists of fate, coincidences, or hidden alignments the universe set in motion, I’m so happy you're here!

Hello Wonderful Weirdo!

I’m not totally sure how long this episode is going to be, but I do know it will be longer than past episodes because I have a lot of ideas and a lot to say. So buckle in my friend.

The monthly Desire File series is where I take you inside a 24/7 D/s relationship, a colour chosen for the visceral reaction it evokes, and the erotic design that brings it all together. Designing homes for pleasure and sex feels super normal to me. Like…why isn’t this how we design every home? It just makes sense. Sure, most people think it’s unusual or a little weird, lol, but WEIRD is my sweet spot. Why wouldn’t we design a home around desire, intimacy, and the experiences that make your life feel alive?

Just a little side note before we dive in: I would never share client names or project details without written consent, so this series is an example of my design practice. A very thorough one, lol, but an example nonetheless. The badass soulmates I feature here are fictional imaginings by yours truly. Creating these characters gives me complete freedom to share everything with you, so you can understand what it’s like to work with WWD.

Here is the structure of today’s episode:

Who they are and their dynamic.

The colour that shapes their world.

And the design as I imagine it.

This design was originally inspired by Harley-Davidson’s 120th anniversary, and this feels like the right time and the right place to finally share it. Live to Ride is an age gap romance between a Pleasure Dom Leather Daddy and his playful puppy. A relationship built on devotion, service, and the primal thrill of being recognized by the one who claims you.

If you want to see the imagery that goes along with this episode and their full client profiles, the link is in the show notes. We will be focusing on the playroom, the mood board, design concept, and the inspiration image that was created with the help of Midjourney. Since my full design process takes years, AI offers a way to share monthly visuals with you. They aren’t what the room would look like if I were designing it for realbies and collaborating with our 3D rendering artist, but they are fun to look at!!!

You might be wondering how I chose this couple or how I came up with this story. It doesn’t feel like choosing anything, lol. I’ve spoken before about what I call my “downloads from the universe” because the ideas come to me out of nowhere and I see and feel them fully formed. I’ve heard authors, poets, musicians, and painters talk about this. My design gift is my version of feeling a higher power (just writing this I teared up and felt the tightness in my chest). I can’t imagine doing anything else with this one and only precious life.

Years ago, I watched an episode of Marie Forleo’s Marie TV. I don’t remember it word for word, but the message stayed with me. You do not have a dream, a passion, or a talent unless there is someone out there searching for the exact gift you are here to offer.

So the answer to your question is that I don’t know, lol. It must be magic. I remember reviewing the 120th anniversary lineup and this couple popped into my head. I took the time to write it and sketch it right away. Once I have a picture of what they look like and the house or rooms, it sticks with me. And for whatever reason, the majority of relationships that come to me are gay men.

ABOUT THE COUPLE

Lucian, known affectionately as Leather Daddy, is a force of nature. A retired athlete turned high-profile sports agent, he embodies strength, discipline, and charisma. Picture Bear from Armageddon- rugged, commanding, and exuding raw power with a sense of humour. With his background in athletics, Lucian knows how to channel his energy into everything he does, whether it's closing a major deal for his clients or creating intimate, intense scenes in his sex life.

Patrick, his husband and devoted puppy, brings a different yet equally powerful energy to the relationship. A sought-after tattoo artist with an alluring Irish accent, Patrick is a creative soul with a bit of edge. His body of work speaks volumes, both literally and figuratively, as he leaves his mark on his clients and in the shop where his personality shines through. He’s playful, loyal, and has an eye for detail, which makes their dynamic all the more captivating. His tattoos, much like their relationship, are intricate and full of meaning, a reflection of his artistry and personal connection to the lifestyle they share.

Together, they’re a perfect balance of intensity and playfulness. Lucian's dominant, take-charge attitude is beautifully complemented by Patrick’s artistic, mischievous side, creating a relationship that thrives on trust, passion, and exploration.

Name: Lucian

Meaning: Latin origin meaning light

Age: 44

Height: 6’6”

Weight: 295 lbs

Career: Retired NFL quarterback turned powerhouse NHL sports agent (he moved to Canada)

Zodiac Sign: Aries

Aries is the spark at the start of the astrological wheel. The first mover. The one who charges forward when everyone else is still thinking about their first step. Aries energy arrives with fire, instinct, and a sense of destiny that refuses to dim.

Core Personality: Energetic, confident, driven, passionate, and courageous. Lucian walks into a room and you feel the shift. He brings the kind of leadership that comes from experience, not ego. He thrives on physicality, challenge, and forward momentum. He is not built for small roles or small lives.

Shadow Traits: Impatient, impulsive, and quick to heat. His temper rises fast when things slow down or obstacles fall in his way. He dislikes delays, inactivity, or anything that fails to meet his full potential. He cools just as quickly, but the spark is always there. These are parts of himself that he has spent years working on and he continues to do so. He knows his fire, he respects it, and he chooses every day to use it with intention.

Why Aries Comes First: Aries season begins at the spring equinox, which marks the start of the astrological year. The world begins again and Aries is the first to lead it forward. This gives Lucian that unmistakable kick down the door presence. He is built to initiate, start, and command.

Relationships and Social World: Lucian is a natural leader in every circle he enters. Direct, honest, and unafraid of conflict. He is competitive without apology and protective without hesitation. His quick reactions and decisive nature make him exceptional under pressure. He dives headfirst into challenges with the confidence of someone who has lived entire lifetimes in stadium lights.

Compatibility: Fire signs like Leo and Sagittarius match Lucian’s intensity and independence. Air signs like Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius can keep pace with his speed and add the intellectual spark he enjoys. Earth and water signs may struggle with the heat, the pace, or the emotional expression he expects.

Right handed

Favourite way to relax: reading, cooking for Patrick, riding

Hobbies: restoring motorcycles, playing poker and pool, canning from the veggie garden, camping, writing my own mystery novel

Pet Peeves: leaving DVDs out of the case (yes I’m old), leaving the lights on when you walk out of a room, meetings that could have been an email

Favourite flower and colour: I don’t have a favourite flower but I do enjoy them in a room

Favourite snack food: beef jerky made by our chef

Favourite meal: made-from-scratch spaghetti and meatballs with freshly grated parmesan and garlic bread

Favourite media: James Patterson novels with the Alex Cross series as the favourite. Also love Morgan Freeman as Alex in the movies. Love Schitt’s Creek, Grace and Frankie, drama/comedy murder mysteries, Only Murders in the Building, The Residence, Bones, Guardians of the Galaxy (might have a crush on Drax) and Sons of Anarchy (might also have a crush on Jax), Mrs. Doubtfire, and Dirty Dancing. I love to laugh so a few of my favourite comedians are Ricky Gervais (his joke about people being the worst and he loves dogs is the best), Fortune Feimster, Tig Notaro. Armageddon. All of the Ocean’s movies. The School of Greatness podcast, Armchair Expert, Smartless, and Rich Roll. I listen to Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Sam Cooke.

Favourite superhero: Batman

Favourite outfit: I have two. One is a custom tailored black and charcoal suit with a hint of burgundy somewhere in the tie, socks, shoes, pocket square, stitching. I did see photos of Dave Bautista in a burgundy suit and I might try that except with black and burgundy thread woven shirt instead of white. All of my suits have a leather detail somewhere that is either visible or hidden. I also enjoy an interesting pattern on the jacket lining.

The second is of course my leathers. I wear a combination of or single items: hat, vest, chaps, pants, gloves, shirts, chest harness, coat, biker boots. Some pieces I only wear at home and others I wear when I’m riding.

Dream car: the Batmobile from the Michael Keaton movies of course

Favourite way to start the day: My schedule can be all over the place depending on the players’ schedules but when I get the chance this is my favourite. Waking up at 5am, getting in a workout, shower, breakfast prepared by our chef all while Patrick is fast asleep warm in our bed. I like to work from my home office in the mornings so I can see Patrick when he wakes up. Making his breakfast and talking about our day while out for a walk. I head to the downtown office around lunchtime to start meetings.

Favourite way to end the day: Again depending on clients I do like going to bed early which Patrick makes fun of me for. My favourite way to end the day is always with Patrick. I do enjoy taking him out on the town for supper not because I like being out and about because I would rather be at home but because Patrick enjoys it. His energy level is higher and thrives on the energy of others as an extrovert for sure opposite to my introverted personality, lol. You have to have one of each we can’t both be boring grumpy pants. I’m charismatic when I want or need to be. I order the car service if we want to get a little frisky in the back seat on the way home. As soon as we are through the door I enjoy undressing him in the hallway and watch him walk to our bedroom only wearing his collar to change into our pjs. Sitting in the den reading and he listens to his smut in front of the fire while his head is in my lap so I can run my fingers through his hair. I sometimes play with his dick and decide if I’m going to let him come or not. When it’s bedtime we head upstairs and he snuggles at the end of the bed by my feet like a good pup until I fall asleep.

Favourite room: I have two, lol. This seems to be a running theme. I love my home office and my den. I love being able to work from home and lunchtime blow jobs under my desk and I love being surrounded by all my books and comfortable furniture.

Favourite holiday: Christmas

Meaning: Latin origin meaning nobleman

Age: 27

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 220 lbs

Libra is the seeker of balance, beauty, and harmony. The only sign represented by an object, the scales. Ruled by Venus, they are the embodiment of aesthetics, romance, artistry, and interpersonal awareness.

Core Personality: Diplomatic, charming, thoughtful, artistic, and socially intuitive. Patrick is the person strangers feel safe telling secrets to without knowing why. He reads rooms, people, micro-expressions, and moods with the precision of someone who lives through art. He brings ease, charm, and grace wherever he goes.

Shadow Traits: Indecision when too many options appear. A tendency to avoid disappointment or conflict. Over giving until it drains him. His devotion to harmony can sometimes silence his own wants.

Ruling Planet: Venus. Love. Pleasure. Aesthetics. Sensuality. This shows up in his tattoos, his precision, his eye for light and shadow, and the way he moves in the world.

Opposing Sign: Aries. Libra’s focus on we balances Aries’ focus on me. Patrick brings harmony where Lucian brings heat. Patrick steadies the fire without putting it out. Lucian protects the beauty without controlling it.

Compatibility: Air signs like Gemini and Aquarius match his intellect and social ease. Fire signs like Leo and Sagittarius bring passion and movement. Challenges may arise with signs who approach emotions, values, or connection with a different rhythm.

Ambidextrous when tattooing and left handed the rest of the time

Favourite meal: Irish Stew and Soda bread (mum makes it the best)

Favourite media: queer romance audiobooks (One Time Only or A Guy Walks Into My Bar by Lauren Blakely are a few of my favs), 60’s and 70’s rock- AC/DC, Zeppelin, Nine Inch Nails, Audioslave- music you can grind to, Deadpool, we both are absolutely in love with Schitt’s Creek,

Favourite superhero: Deadpool

Favourite outfit: Dark wash low-slung ripped jeans so Lucian can trace the v with his eyes, or black boxer briefs, leather harness over bare skin, and my collar, pup mask if we are playing, or jeans and a black henley if I’m going out with Lucian or to the studio with a few buttons undone and lace up motorcycle boots

Dream car: restored vintage Harley Davidson police special with a sidecar so i can ride beside Lucian while wearing goggles and a scarf I knitted

Favourite way to start the day: Lucian naturally wakes up early as he also goes to bed early (which I make fun of him for). I love going to find him either in his office or the kitchen as he or our chef is preparing my breakfast. I usually wake up around 10am. I eat while Lucian and I chat either at the island or dining table and head out for a walk. When we get back we shower together and sometimes we have shower sex.

Favourite way to end the day: I end the day in two ways one with Lucian and one alone since he goes to be at 8:30 and I go to bed at 1am ish. With Lucian we change into our pj's and head into the den to cuddle up on the sofa in front of the fireplace. He reads his current James Patterson hardcover while I lay down head on his lap and listen to my erotic romance novel on audio while he plays with my hair. We are there for about an hour and then it’s his bedtime. We both head upstairs to bed Lucian getting under the covers on his right side while I wait with my puppy blanket and pillow to snuggle up on top of the comforter tucking into his feet and calves like a good puppy until he falls asleep. Once he’s off in lalaland I sneak out to draw, knit, have a snack of apples and pb for about 4 hours. Either listening to music or more of my audiobook or a tv show.

Favourite room: Our bedroom. I would definitely hand out on there more if Lucian wasn’t trying to sleep. I love laying in bed with a heated or weighted blanket with the window open so I can sniff the breeze. I like the cozyness of the room.

Favourite holiday: Halloween

Shared Kinks & Fetishes: Puppy play, bootblacking, watersports, chastity, and impact play

They met through a mutual client, a professional hockey player that Lucian represents and Patrick tattoos.

Lucian walked into the studio looking for a tattoo. He walked out with an obsession.

Patrick was twenty-two, collared, adorable, and absolutely off-limits. Lucian told himself he was fine with that. Completely fine. Perfectly fine. He was not fine.

For years, Lucian sat in his chair, letting Patrick’s hands etch stories into his skin while he kept his own desires buried beneath the surface. He played it cool, pretending he was only there for the ink, but every appointment became something he secretly looked forward to. The conversation. The laughter. The way Patrick teased him about being too serious. The way Patrick lit up when he talked about art.

They joked about sports, about bad tattoos, about Patrick’s inability to sit still for more than five minutes unless he was working. They would bump into each other at the occasional party and end up talking for half the night without meaning to. Lucian would pretend he wasn’t scanning the room for Patrick the moment he arrived, and Patrick would pretend he didn’t get butterflies every time Lucian smiled at him because he didn’t smile at anyone else. They were friends with a pull neither of them acknowledged out loud. Lucian has only ever dated younger men, but Patrick is the youngest by far, and he struggled with his feelings for this fascinating boy with the most beautifully captivating smile he had ever seen.

Then one day Patrick wasn’t wearing his collar. Lucian didn’t waste a second. He asked immediately. Calm voice. Not-so-calm heartbeat. And Patrick confirmed that they had parted ways.

So at twenty-four, Patrick started dating Lucian, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Patrick was a submissive in his past relationships and already a part of the gay leather community, but he had never been a puppy until Lucian. Something about the safety, the steadiness, the way Lucian sees him made that part of him emerge naturally. And Patrick is the only one who has ever tattooed Lucian, which gives them both a deep sense of pleasure and satisfaction.

Patrick has never felt as safe or respected as he does with Lucian. Being with him has changed the way he sees himself. Lucian helped, almost by osmosis, to show Patrick that his dyslexia and ADHD are not flaws. They are part of his brilliance. They are part of what makes him extraordinary. When Patrick gets down on himself or slips into saying something unkind about who he is, Lucian steps in and corrects him. Not harshly. Not as a lecture. He redirects him with love and truth until Patrick sees himself the way Lucian sees him.

Things I Love About Lucian and Patrick

Their first date was peak romance. A motorcycle ride. A picnic stocked with all of Patrick’s favourite foods. Lucian set the whole thing up with no expectations because Patrick had just left a long term relationship and they were both navigating that delicious friends to lovers shift. Major swoon. And when Lucian proposed, he took a page straight out of Schitt’s Creek. Patrick’s all time favourite moment is the rocky outlook proposal, so Lucian recreated it for the real thing.

Their love songs

Before they were dating: “Wicked Game” - Stone Sour cover according to Patrick

Their wedding song: “You Are Mine” - Mutemath

For cuteness: “At Home” - Jon Bryant

What makes them feel badass:

Patrick- Tattooing Lucian. “There’s nothing like having a 6'6" retired football player take off his shirt and trust you to mark his body. I feel powerful when I’m in my zone gloved up, machine humming, and the ink flowing."

Lucian- "Pulling off a high-stakes negotiation while Patrick’s leather collar is tucked in my pants pocket and enjoy feeling it between my fingers. Sliding on my favourite leather jacket and hearing Patrick’s breath catch just a little."

Patrick has dyslexia and ADHD.

Patrick's collar lock is engraved with his pup name Dobie and 3 puppy footprints. It is warn not for others to see but rests on his skin

Patrick loves sniffing the breeze outside or through an open window. Lucian loves watching him.

Patrick’s Irish accent. Enough said.

They are so cute and in love it’s disgusting.

Patrick’s mum is his best friend (and proud of it). A total mumma’s boy in a good way. They speak every week on Wednesday evenings over Zoom. And Patrick is Lucian’s best friend.

Lucian’s parents live nearby and they visit them often for dinners.

Lucian has the biggest heart and tears up in every heartfelt moment in real life, song lyrics, movie, or tv show.

Lucian wears a fine chain with two keys. One is for Patrick’s chain link locked collar. The other… you will have to stay tuned for.

Lucian loves to dance fast or slow but definitely DIRTY!!! He is a great dancer and taught Patrick how to dance who started out more like the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man. This all started because of Dirty Dancing which his mom watched often when he was growing up.

Lucian was 18 when Armageddon released and his resemblance to Michael Clarke Duncan earned him the nickname Bear. Not because he is hairy.

THEIR DESIRES FOR THEIR HOUSE

  • A kickass suite for Patrick’s mum

  • A hangout spot for their motorcycle club friends for guys night

  • Spaces that help regulate Patrick’s nervous system and soften his mind

  • An office for Lucian

  • A library to read while Patrick curls against him

  • Storage and display for motorcycle and watch collection

  • Storage and display for their leather gear and toys

  • A studio for Patrick to sketch, draw, or tattoo concepts

  • Fully functioning motorcycle shop

This information is what forms my design direction. So it's really important that clients feel seen, heard and understood without judgment. For them to trust me enough to be vulnerable and open to discussing sexual pleasure in the comfort and beauty of their home.

FOR THE LOVE OF COLOUR

Burgundy is a deep, luxurious blend of red and purple inspired by the wine of the Burgundy region in France, long associated with wealth, power, and refined taste. Historically worn by aristocracy and later embraced in fashion, interiors, and branding, it carries a natural sense of sophistication and ambition. Emotionally, burgundy evokes warmth, richness, and seriousness, often attracting thoughtful, driven personalities. It can also subtly stimulate appetite, which is why it appears so often in dining rooms and restaurants. In any context, burgundy signals exclusivity, premium quality, and a mature, elegant confidence.

Positive: sophistication, luxury, refinement, power, ambition, and authority

Negative: somber, heavy, oppressive/controlling, reserved, or overly serious

Effects: Burgundy resists anything shallow or frivolous. It carries experience, stability, good taste, and that quiet kind of refined restraint that gives a room or a person real presence. It brings weight and dignity, the feeling of someone who knows exactly who they are. Burgundy inspires ambition, discipline, and inner strength. When you wear it or surround yourself with it, you feel grounded, in control, and ready to lead.

What you might think of: wine (obviously), black dahlias, cherries, autumn leaves, lipstick, vintage handbag, mahogany wood, chesterfield sofa

THE HOUSE/ ROOMS

This will become their primary residence for them and the home in Toronto will be for when they need to be in the city. Based on their answers from the Lifestyle Questionnaire and details from their primary home these are the rooms I’m envisioning in this house:

Main Floor:

4 car garage

Mudroom

Foyer

Den with a private power room

Kitchen, scullery, walk-in pantry

Living room

Dining room

Power room

Laundry

Guest suite

Muskoka room

Terrace with outdoor tv, seating area, pizza oven, and smoker (for the best beef jerky)

Second Storey:

Movie Theater

Gym with a pool, hot tub, cold plunge, and sauna

Laundry

Lucian’s Primary Suite

Patrick’s primary suite

Muskoka room with an outdoor shower

Basement:

Speakeasy, games area, puppy playpen

Stall washrooms

Laundry

5 bedroom suites for friends to sleepover

Kitchen with a harvest table for 12

Mechanical room

Tech room

Now let’s talk about how they live today and why their new construction home needs to function very differently.

In their current house, the den is downstairs. After supper they both head upstairs to their shared bedroom suite to change into their pj’s, then they walk all the way back downstairs to hang out in the den. Later they go back upstairs again when it is time for Lucian’s bedtime. Once he is asleep, Patrick quietly sneaks out because he does not fall asleep for another four hours. And then he sneaks back in later trying not to wake him. In the morning Lucian wakes at five and does the same thing, trying not to disturb Patrick.

It is adorable, but it makes absolutely no sense for how they actually live. So in their new home, they each get their own bedroom suite, connected by an art gallery hallway. No more sneaking. No more tiptoeing in the dark. And the den moves upstairs into Lucian’s suite so their nightly routine finally feels natural and calm.

The guest suite is for Patrick’s mum when she visits from Ireland. She stays for two weeks at a time, so she gets her own full space on the main floor at the opposite end of the house. Completely soundproofed. Patrick and Lucian need to stay connected and intimate during those visits, and two weeks without that would strain their relationship. She knows about their D/s dynamic and what Patrick’s collar means, and she supports them, but she does not know about the puppy play. So her suite needs to feel peaceful, private, and separate.

Now for Lucian. He loves movies so I’m thinking of a state-of-the-art movie theater room, and I can confirm he will absolutely lose his mind when he sees it. They do not have one now, but I am placing it upstairs so it becomes a shared space for slow nights, movie marathons, and all the cuddles he loves.

Then we move to the speakeasy. This is a hidden room in the basement accessed through a secret door. When you walk through that hallway it opens into a large but intimate gathering space with a full bar, poker and billiard tables, stall washrooms, and five bedroom suites for their Handler and pup friends who stay over. There is also a kitchen and a harvest table that seats twelve because this group loves connection and ritual.

And finally their primary suites. Two separate rooms with a shared art gallery between them. Some of the pieces are by other artists and some are from Patrick himself. These suites solve their number one issue. They have different sleep schedules. Completely different. And they are exhausted from sneaking around to avoid waking each other. So here, they can be together when they want to be together and their individual rhythms.

Every single decision is about creating ease, pleasure, and connection. Their home is not just a structure. It is a container for the way they love each other.

Those are a few of the ideas I initially had for the house but today we are focusing on the playroom because this episode would be hours upon hours long otherwise.

THEIR DESIRES FOR THE PLAYROOM

- Dedicated areas for puppy play, watersports, bootblacking, and impact play

- Incorporate their milking machine

- Coffee break spot

- Areas for Patrick to rest

THE MOOD BOARD

The mood board radiates gritty romance, leather, shadow, metal, and skin. Nothing soft. Nothing surface level. It’s the kind of world where touch matters, where everything is worn, lived in, and carrying a story. It feels like the kind of love that isn’t delicate, it’s deliberate.

There’s a deep sense of discipline and precision woven through it. The watch collection shifts the entire energy into ritual and responsibility. This is a life built on rhythm, structure, and devotion. It’s the Dominant who leads with purpose, and the submissive who finds freedom inside that purpose. Nothing here is accidental. Everything has meaning.

And then you have the heritage. The Harley tank, the chrome, the tire treads, the engine. This isn’t just a hobby. It’s lineage. It’s movement and rebellion, yes, but also a sense of belonging to something more powerful than you. Something that calls you home. This is a lifestyle, not a pastime.

The sensuality in this board comes through materials. Leather. Metal. Machinery. Textures that are inherently intimate without ever being explicit. Sensuality expressed through craftsmanship, weight, and contrast. Erotic energy that lives in your hands, not just your mind.

This is bold, dark luxury. Not glossy. Not minimal. Luxury with weight and depth and history. The kind of world where love, power, and pleasure are forged, not decorated.

What I want them to feel when they see this mood board is pure recognition. Like someone finally understands their design style. Like their lives, their kinks, their 24/7 dynamic, and their aesthetic have been distilled into something they can walk into every single day. A home that feels powerful and sensual and grounded because it reflects who they are at their core.

BECAUSE NO CLIENT, LOVE STORY OR DESIRES ARE THE SAME THERE IS RESEARCH INVOLVED WITH EVERY PROJECT

Moving forward with knowing the feeling of the room I take all of their ideas, wants and must-haves and figure out how all of this can translate into a room design, so here we go.

These are just a few of the questions I asked myself before starting my research:

  • How will Lucian and Patrick move through the room?

  • What size does the building need to be for a shop and play?

  • Where and how will toys and gear be stored/displayed?

  • How will the space appeal to their senses?

  • How do I incorporate working on bikes and kinky scenes?

  • What BDSM furniture should I include?

  • How tall are they?

  • How will I add calming areas for Patrick?

  • How and where will I include a wet room?

  • Where will the milking machine be located and plugged in?

  • They don’t use a puppy cage but Patrick does enjoy being restrained during play, how do I incorporate this?

  • Leather is essential as it is a fetish, how to incorporate it?

  • Lucian loves the warmth and ambiance of a fireplace. Where can that go?

  • They asked for a coffee break spot, where does that go?

  • Where will they spend time for aftercare?

  • I don’t have a penis nor am I super tall. How would this change my point of view?

TELLING THEIR LOVE STORY IN VISUAL FORM

This room and all its design elements' purpose was to elicit a strong visceral reaction of excitement, a hint of danger, increased heart rate, anticipation, and heightened arousal.

The first thing I selected was their coordinating 120th anniversary motorcycles. It didn’t escape me that Lucian’s bike is larger and Patrick's is smaller speaking to their physical size but also their D/s dynamic. The next fabulous idea was to commission the Live to Ride derby cover to be crafted and encased into the concrete floors between their workstations.

You know sourcing lighting is one of my top favourites, and this design called for industrial and biker vibes. Metal and glass, replicating the look of tailpipes.

Que the sexy furniture- The Bookblack Chair and Suspension Table gives them multiple areas for hours of fun! Not shown is the custom burgundy leather and wood sofa and custom dog bed, so good. With so many options, where will they play first???

H-D EAGLE: The Harley-Davidson eagle symbolizes freedom, power, and the right to choose your own path. It reflects the strength and courage of the rider while honouring the heritage and grit of the motorcycle community. Within rider culture, the eagle speaks to loyalty, brotherhood, and the pride of living life unapologetically. It is also a symbol of resilience and rising above challenges, carried by that unmistakable open road spirit. Intrigued where an eagle will be incorporated into the room???

LIVE TO RIDE, RIDE TO LIVE: This is the heartbeat of the Harley world. It means riding isn’t a hobby but a source of purpose, freedom, and identity. You live for the ride, and the ride is what makes you feel alive. It is rebellion, escape, and moving through the world on your own terms. And most importantly… it unites riders under a shared creed, fostering a sense of belonging that is felt the moment the engine starts.

There is a clock in the shop that counts down to coffee break and/or playtime depending on their planned day and scene conversation. The anticipation of the countdown for them both sometimes has them distracted from their task of working on the bikes. Often Patrick’s cock is caged at this point so the ache and denial has him locked and loaded.

This HOT AS FUCK artwork is from the collection by a Canadian artist. As soon as I saw it on IG I knew it needed to be a part of this design. It will be hung above the sofa in the seating area.

Have you ever put this much thought into a room? Well I do, all the time!!!

[Live To Ride] Design Vision

The freedom of the open road calls to their rebellious souls.

The adventure. The thrill. The speed.

The comfort of home beckons their hearts to return.

HOW I INCORPORATED THEIR MUST-HAVES FOR AN EROTIC SPACE [THE PLAYROOM- NICKNAMED THE HOG HOUSE]

They had originally pictured a detached shop and a playroom inside the house, but because they willingly involved me, I went my own way. Of course I did. When you hire a creative genius, you are not always going to get what you expected which is part of the fun!!!

I decided to combine two of their must-haves into one because you do not walk out to the shop without taking your pup with you. You just don’t. If Lucian is heading into the motorcycle shop, his boy is right there with him.

I also made sure all the doorways and ceilings are oversized and higher than standard so Lucian never feels like he needs to duck or turn sideways. And throughout the space, I kept in mind Lucian’s sightlines versus Patrick’s. What Lucian sees first, what Patrick sees when he looks up at him, and how their bodies move through a room together.

The space needed dedicated areas for puppy play, watersports, bootblacking, milking, impact play, and chastity influencing layout, flow, and privacy. This is not kink scattered around a room. This is intentional design.

And finally, a motorcycle shop isn’t just a workspace. It is a whole sensory experience. The moment you walk in, it grabs you. The scent of oil, rubber, leather, and the faint hint of cigars from their friends. The visual hit of leather and metal. The weight of the tools in your hand. The low rumble of engines. The clang of steel meeting steel. Blues or rock music vibrating the windows. Footsteps echoing across concrete. It’s atmospheric. It’s visceral. And that is exactly what their redesigned playroom needed to feel like.

THE VISION

I’m picturing a rectangle two-storey industrial loft building with large paned windows, the functioning motorcycle shop with two garage doors at the front and the playroom in the back (like a really great mullet), with a mezzanine above to display their motorcycle collection.

They each have their own bay with tool boxes, a sink, tire storage, a motorcycle lift, and rolling stools. The floors need to be easy to clean, so black-stained concrete is the choice throughout the entire building. Reclaimed brick walls, steel beams, and posts support the mezzanine.

To keep the floor open, I specified a suspension table on a pulley system from the ceiling. I’ve specified it to Patrick’s body measurements with a hole in the table so it is a milking table. Patrick can lie on his stomach or back, restrained or not. This does two things: there is open space that isn’t permanently taken up by furniture or they don’t have to move it or store it, and the pulley allows the table to be at different heights depending on what Lucian wants. Lower if he’s using his hands only. Higher if he’s on a stool or kneeling under the table. Even higher if he wants to stand. Lucian will either use his hand or his mouth or a milking machine. And yes… where the case is stored and where it’s plugged in is already planned. The milking machine case has dedicated storage and a hidden outlet in the floor.

The back half of the Hog House is dedicated to their leather and kink life. Three zones: a seating area, a bootblack station, and a coffee break nook. A central four-sided fireplace styled like a blacksmith’s forge anchors the space.

Every area has a designated spot where their favourite hand job and anal lubes are stored and towels too.

SEATING AREA: Under one side of the mezzanine it helps this space feel cozier with a sectional and a single chair in soft burgundy leather and wood surround.. The ceiling is mahogany wood to bring the cabinetry finish to the opposite side of the room. This is also where they relax during a scene or for aftercare. The sectional, throw pillow, and blankets allows them to comfortably stretch out and a special cushion for Patrick when he is in pup headspace. The metal posts not only hold up the mezzanine but they also have a second purpose. Like ladies in the 1800’s holding onto the bedposts while her corset is tightened Patick holds onto the posts when Lucian paddles his ass.

BOOTBLACK STATION: The bootblack station is on the back wall between the seating area and the coffee break area. The ceiling is open above the chair as the mezzanine is only above the seating area and the coffee break area. A custom bootblack chair sits beneath a large commissioned metal eagle replicating the pose of the Live to Ride eagle on the derby cover. Instead of a living room chair, office chair or the sofa they’ve been using, I selected a more substantial chair that feels like a throne. A seat worthy of their ritual. And of course, it needs to fit Lucian’s size. Bootblacking is sacred to them, so this station needed to be a place of honour. The ring hooks on the front of the arm rests are used for Lucian to loop Patrick's leash through. A rolling stool with back support allows comfort for Patick when he is cleaning his Master's boots. A side table on wheels holds the cleaning supplies and their gear and can be moved around the shop wherever they need it to be.

Gear stored here: wrist wraps, mitts, leather puppy jock, harness, knee pads, boots, tail holster, tail plugs, puppy toys, puppy beds, chastity cage, and cage cream.

COFFEE BREAK AREA:  So coffee maker and cups for sure. Their favourite snacks, and alcohol for when friends come over to hang out. Normally, I wouldn’t specify a glass-top table in a shop because you know- dirt, but I did this time. It allows Lucian to see Patrick wearing his leather jock or cage through the table. The easily cleanable leather seating is built-in, with a heavy armchair for Lucian and a booth style bench for Patrick. Sometimes Patrick does drool a little bit but not from his mouth ;) The mahogany cabinetry includes a wet bar, drawer refrigerators, bar sink, coffee, snacks, and a microwave because they actually work out here for hours.

POWDER ROOM/WET ROOM: The coffee break area is flanked by a powder room and a wet room. The walls and ceiling in both rooms are riveted metal. The powder room is smaller with a urinal, toilet, and floating sink. The mirror on the wall in both rooms is for the person using it but also if a second person is in there to watch. In the wet room I designed a urinal, toilet, floating vanity, rain head shower, towel and body wash storage. As this is a wet room for mainly watersports I specified drains in the floor. They will play and have sex or get cleaned up in either room so it’s best to be prepared for either scenario! And the pièce de résistance, the cherry on top...a dog wash station that has steps to get in and out safely. I can’t even with this…I am a fucking genius. I’m keeping it a secret until design presentation day so I can surprise them.

How does this room make you feel? Does it inspire any deliciously naughty fantasies of your own?

IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS

This room is a great example of why you hire WWD before finalizing any luxury new construction or full-scale renovation plans. When we design pre-construction, we can shape the architecture itself. That is how we were able to create the two-storey industrial loft, the black stained concrete floors with their embedded Live to Ride emblem, the reclaimed brick and steel structure, and the mezzanine for their motorcycle collection.

It is also how we seamlessly integrated their kinks into the shop: the bootblack throne built to Lucian’s size, the suspension table on a ceiling pulley system, the dog-wash station, even the placement of the metal eagle as the weight of the sculpture requires the walls to be reinforced. These are not afterthoughts. These require planning at the blueprint stage. This is why you hire a creative genius!

I hope you have enjoyed Live to Ride, and I hope it inspires you to imagine your own home built around desire, identity, intimacy, sex, and joy. Your relationship is allowed to take up space. Your rituals matter. Your weird is welcome here.

More than design. This is identity.

My intention for this episode was for you to know that you’re not alone. To feel seen, heard, and understood. To know that your desires are valid and that a home designed to enhance your sex life is not only possible, it’s waiting for you.

Maybe you laughed. Maybe a memory tugged at your heartstrings. Maybe you had an aha moment, or whispered “she gets me.”

Thank you for spending this time with me and for allowing me to be part of your journey. Until next time…have joy!
